Berchem, Moses & Devlin, P.C. again partnered with the Connecticut Association of Schools (CAS) to sponsor the highly-esteemed Governor’s Scholars Program. The Governor’s Scholars Program recognizes academically talented high school students in schools throughout the state. Principals of CAS member high schools are given the opportunity to nominate one junior who ranks in the top five percent of his or her class. Members of the Governor’s Scholars Committee who are professional educators from throughout the state review the students’ SAT scores, judge the completed applications and student essays, and apply a composite score to each nomination. Based on total scores, a select group of the top students are selected as "Governor’s Scholars".

This year's award luncheon was held on May 18, 2017 at the Aqua Turf Club in Southington. Senior Counsel Christine Sullivan addressed the thirty honorees along with their parents, teachers, and school administrators. These impressive students will have the opportunity to participate in coursework at more than 30 colleges and universities to earn college credit during their senior year in high school, and will qualify for a renewable $5,000 scholarship to UCONN for each of four undergraduate years.

CAS Executive Director Dr. Karissa Niehoff stated, "The Governor’s Scholars Program gives highly talented students in Connecticut not only the recognition they deserve, but also great opportunities to pursue higher education within our state. Without the support and generosity of Berchem, Moses & Devlin, this program would not be possible."
