Before earning her law degree, Alician worked in the field of human resources and labor relations for six years. As a human resources professional, she counseled supervisors, coordinated performance management processes, facilitated training, and investigated issues and employee concerns. In addition, she analyzed organizational effectiveness and compensation programs and spearheaded employee development programs.

As a labor relations representative, she managed programs aimed at establishing and maintaining positive working relationships with represented employees, union officials and management. She counseled management on day-to-day contract administration and interpretation, researched and prepared grievances, assisted with manpower adjustments and prepared for contract negotiations and arbitrations.
